Elite Aqua Bets on Protein Water as India's Protein Demand Rises
Delhi-based Vkare Bio Sciences is selling whey and pea protein water in 250 ml cans, pitching a no-preparation alternative to the protein shake
NEW DELHI, Oct. 14, 2026 — Vkare Bio Sciences Pvt. Ltd., a New Delhi-based health and wellness company, is marketing Elite Aqua, a ready-to-drink protein water sold in 250 ml cans, as a lighter alternative to conventional protein shakes. The range comes in whey and pea protein variants, the company said.
The product enters a growing and increasingly crowded segment. IMARC Group values India's protein supplements market at $912.9 million in 2025 and projects it will reach $1,578.1 million by 2034. Large dairy companies, including Parag Milk Foods and Britannia Industries, have moved into ready-to-drink protein over the past year.
What is in the can
According to the company, the whey variant contains 10 grams of hydrolysed whey protein per can, with vitamins D3, B1, and B12. It has no added sugar and is sweetened with stevia, the company said.
The pea variant contains 10 grams of hydrolysed pea protein, 7 grams of dietary fibre, and 47 kilocalories per can, fortified with vitamins D3 and B12, according to the brand's website.
The company describes the range as physician-formulated. Product listings name Sippin Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi, as the manufacturer and Vkare Bio Sciences as the marketer. The whey variant carries a maximum retail price of ₹249 per can on the brand's website.
Why convenience is the pitch
The company's argument is that the preparation involved in a protein shake, such as measuring powder, mixing it, and carrying a shaker, can make daily use hard to sustain. Elite Aqua is positioned for work, travel, and post-workout use, and is packed in recyclable aluminium cans, the company said.
Consumer data points to rising interest in protein products. Swiggy's quick-commerce platform Instamart said in May 2026 that protein-related orders had risen 150% over the previous two years, with protein milk and shakes up 225%.
What the company says
"India's protein conversation is undergoing a fundamental shift. Consumers are becoming more aware of the importance of protein, but awareness alone is not enough. The real challenge is making good nutrition convenient enough to become a consistent part of everyday life," said Dr. Mohit Bhatia, Director, Vkare Bio Sciences, and Founder, Physiovits.
"We believe the future will not be about choosing between traditional food and supplementation, but about creating smarter formats that complement people's lifestyles. With ready-to-drink protein, our focus is on making nutrition simpler, more accessible, and easier to integrate into a busy day," he said.
Bhatia is listed as a director of Vkare Bio Sciences in corporate records. He also founded Physiovits, the company's nutraceutical brand.
Where protein water fits
The company does not position protein water as a substitute for regular food. Dal, paneer, milk, and, for non-vegetarians, eggs and meat remain the base of the Indian diet, while protein powders continue to serve consumers who want to adjust their dosage, the company said.
Its pitch is aimed at working professionals, vegetarians, and fitness consumers who want protein without preparing a shake.
What comes next
Elite Aqua is sold through the brand's website and on e-commerce marketplaces. The company has not disclosed sales figures, retail distribution plans, or expansion targets.
