Indian boxer Ipsita Vikram delivered a remarkable performance at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Rajasthan, winning the gold medal in the 80+ kg weight category. Ipsita shared that her preparation for the championship has been ongoing with complete consistency. “I have been practicing for the last three to four years, focusing on improving my technique and overall conditioning. This consistency played a crucial role in preparing me for the Khelo India University Games,” she said.
Reflecting on her experience in Rajasthan, she described the event as uplifting and motivating. “The atmosphere in Rajasthan was truly amazing. The energy of the crowd and the high level of competition pushed me to perform at my best. Competing with talented athletes from across the region brought out the fighter in me,” Ipsita added.
For Ipsita, winning the gold medal marks a deeply rewarding milestone. “Becoming the winner feels incredible. The hard work, sacrifices, and long training sessions have finally paid off. It’s a proud moment for me and my entire team,” she shared with emotion.

She believes that these aspects helped her remain composed and focused throughout the competition. “Along with physical training, I focused a lot on mental preparation, recovery, and nutrition. These things played a very important role in my performance,” she noted.
Ipsita also acknowledged the significant role her coaches played in shaping her victory. “My coach Manoj Kaidan and my basic coach Muniv Yadav played a huge role in this achievement. Their guidance, corrections, and continuous support kept me focused. They believed in me even on days when I doubted myself, and that made all the difference,” she said with gratitude.
Sharing a message for aspiring athletes, Ipsita encouraged perseverance and self-belief. “Stay consistent and believe in yourself. Progress takes time, but discipline and patience always bring results. Never underestimate the power of daily effort,” she advised.
Following her win, Vice-Chancellor Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak congratulated Ipsita, calling her accomplishment a proud moment for the university.
